Lots of the yellow ones available with lemon/buyback titles - apparently Kia had issues with the yellow paint and they had to be resprayed.

Does a car actually get a branded title when it’s lemon lawed? I thought they stayed clean titled but the buyback would appear on the history report.

I don’t know about all states, but in general I believe lemon law cars get branded titles.

Man, I wanted one of these when I saw it was a special edition. But that hurts to read that they had issues with the paint. Granted, Ford’s own Triple Yellow collects rock chips like that’s its day job so apparently a good yellow paint is hard to do.

Oh no! I didn’t see that. Let’s stick this on an offer a free vinyl wrap with purchase!

Yeah, Arrivederci tipped me off first. What an odd way for a state to brand a title. I guess not all cheese colored items in the state of Wisconsin are equal

I’m not into yellow cars, but I was looking into Stingers recently and apparently the blue paint on them is also bad. If I got one I suppose it’d be red or maybe what Kia calls “ceramic silver” but is really more of a non-metallic gray.
Probably red though.

As long as the respray is good, I really wouldn’t care if I was a buyer. Yeah, you’d have to tell that story when you go to sell it, but if you plan on keeping it until its value is essentially gone, then it wouldn’t be a bad thing, I think.

I hadn’t heard about the blue - that’s a bummer because that’s one of the best colors on the Stinger. FWIW, the red on my wife’s Sorento has held up pretty well to her abuse.

I didn’t research it extensively but a large number of Stinger owners in general seem dissatisfied with the paint quality . Only the yellow was recalled. But the colors that are more prone to show rock chips just because of contrast like blue or black apparently really show rock chips.

If I could verify that th e paint was really the reason for the buyback - and the only reason - I would be happy to buy this car.

You would think this color would be available here in Southern California , but I have never seen one here for sale. If it were it was probably snatched up quick.
